English term

have ... cross-fertilisation

English to French Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters general - online question
La phrase est la suivante:

Auditors and others involved in the assessment process have sufficient training and **cross-fertilisation** to be able to demonstrate their competence to evaluate compliance with the standard.

j'ai mis 'ont bénéficié d'une formation suffisante et d'échanges fructueux, mais je n'aime pas vraiment. Auriez-vous d'autre propositions dans ce contect?

Merci

@ Tony et Daryo et à tous thank you, je vais 'creuser ça', je me demande si 'interactions' ou échange d'idées n'irait pas dans cette direction.. hum
Daryo Sep 10, 2012:
"ont bénéficié d'une formation suffisante" implies that NOW they "have sufficient training"; nothing wrong with that, just another way of saying the same thing.
The tricky bit is "cross-fertilisation". I understand it as each member of that team knowing/having learned relevant elements outside their own field of expertise. Something like a multi-disciplinary approach.

For a start... I think you'll find that 'sufficient' qualifies BOTH 'training' AND 'cross-fertilisation'. And I think in FR you may need to split the two halves and deal with each separately, along the lines of '...are sufficiently trained and operate with sufficient cross-fertilisation...', since I don't think 'have' will work well with both expressions in FR.

Do note also that '(they) have' is present tense in EN, I know why you've put 'ont bénéficié' into the perfect, but I'm not sure it really helps make the key point here, which is that they 'disposent de...'

fertilisation mutuelle
