We talk about "épissage" for splicing, but ?? for "outsplicing"
Joanne
French translation:épissage ou épissage alternatif
Explanation:
All the references I find talk about "outsplicing an exon" (rather than an intron). Introns (non-coding RNA) are commonly spliced out, whereas exons (coding RNA) are usually kept. However, in the process of alternative splicing, some exons can be either kept or spliced out, which would be "outsplicing of an exon". In French, we would simply call it "épissage" or "épissage alternatif".

Je crois effectivement que "excision" est le mot juste.
