English to French Medical Medical (general) Medical informatics

Hi all,

I am translating a document concerning the development of a healthcare-related mobile app.
The aim of this app is for medical (radiology) staff to view images on their phones and the app includes several other features.

To explain in what way this app could be useful, the document states that "these images are of high medical-legal relevance", the images here being those of the patient.

I am not sure of the significance of "medical-legal" in this context which is why I'm turning to you. I am not sure this refers to "médico-légal" in French. Any ideas?
