Bonjour!

Dans le cadre de mon mémoire, je traduis un livre mêlant musique et psychologie. Je suis tombé sur un passage cité de Bennett Reimer, qui me donne du fil à retordre. Voici ce qu'il dit:

Music is, in a certain sense, only one of a multitude of demonstrations of the subject-object interplay that characterizes human reality. But in another sense, music is a remarkably vivid and concentrated instance of the self-within-the-world human condition. Perhaps more fully than any other endeavor, music manifests selfness for the sheer sake of the human need to demonstrate selfness, and it does this with materials – sounds – that exist entirely and are employed sheerly for the sake of self-manifestation – self as instance of the universal human condition, as instance of the culturally determined human condition, as instance of the individuality of each human’s condition.


J'ai pu jusque là traduire ceci, sans être pleinement satisfait du résultat:

La musique n’est, dans une certaine mesure, qu’une partie d’une multitude de démonstrations de l’interaction sujet-objet qui caractérise la réalité humaine. Mais d’un autre côté, la musique est un exemple remarquablement vivant et concentré de la condition de l’homme seul au monde.


Pour le reste de la citation, qui est en fait une seule et longue phrase, je ne sais absolument pas comment m'y prendre. Plusieurs termes m'échappent (selfness, sheer sake) et la structure répétitive me déconcerte...
