What would be a German equivalent of "since before" as in "I have lived here since before 1990"?

The literal translation ("seit vor") does not work in German. Using your sample sentence, I would say:
Ich lebte/wohnte hier schon vor 1990.

Sorry, "schon vor" is not an equivalent of "since before".
