Ich würde so etwas in der Richtung vorschlagen - die Firma hatte praktisch/quasi/gewissermaßen eine Monopolstellung...

Nur als Variation. Ich glaube aber, auch "praktisch" und "quasi" wären besser mit Ergänzung, wie "vollständig", "unbegrenzt" o. ä.

: ...faktisch eine Monopolstellung... z.B. bei kaum oder nicht vorhandenen Mitbewerbern...Marktbeherrschende Position, die einem Monopol nahe kommt...
