Do employees know who their customers are?

It is particularly difficult for employees to identify their customers when those customers are internal to the company.

These employees often do not know what impact their work has on other departments.

Identifying internal customers requires mapping and communicating characteristics of work flow, organizing periodic cross-departmental meetings between “customers” and “servers,” and recognizing good internal service performance.
