Regarding the origin of the products available on markets, the situation depends on the type of product. It can be produced in local small family gardens (like cassava leaves, spinach, amaranth), in Aceh Jaya Province (watermelon, peanuts, chilly, small quantities of local rice). Some products come from outside Aceh Jaya (carrots, cabbage), like from Takengon (Central Aceh) or North Sumatra Province. Local rice found on the market is mostly coming from outside Aceh Jaya (from Sigli, Nagan Raya, or Bireun in Aceh Province).
