birilli Explanation: in senso ovviamente figurato, il bambino spazza via i birilli, grida "sei morto!" e materializza/smaterializza un fucile - nel senso che butta via il giochino innocuo e si rivela un killer spietato (così la intendo io, almeno). |

caramelle/pasticche Explanation: "Skittles" e' una marca di caramelle americane multicolori. Avendo letto l'articolo mi pare il senso sia che e' un mondo di violenza, dove strozzare qualcuno e' equivalente ad un abbraccio, dove i bambini scartano le caramelle gridando "stasera muori". C'e' un gioco chiamato "skittles" nel quale i bambini usano una cannuccia per "succhiare" queste caramelle e metterle in un contenitore. Un'altra connotazione da considerare e' il fatto che in americano gergale "skittles" sono farmaceutici contenenti dextromethorphan (DXM), per raffreddore e dicongestionanti legalmente venduti nei negozi sotto la marca Coricidin (e abusati dai giovani) che sono visualmente simili alle caramelle "Skittles". L'unico termine che riflette entrambe connotazioni l'ho trovato su http://www.francescobianco.net/linguistica/pentothal.pdf ed e' pastiglia.
