E' piuttosto difficile tradurre in termini narratologici queste 2 parole

the reader. For example, the mood of a story could be romantic, joyous,
nostalgic or one of despair. Setting, tone, events, descriptive details and
images all affect the mood. The major difference between tone and mood
is that tone alludes to the author’s attitude toward the subject, characters,

volevo aggiungere che tone può tradursi anche ma non alternativamente alla proposta di sopra come "taglio dell'opera", ovvero il taglio, appunto il tono, che l'autore intende dare (satirico, ironico, introspettivo). Il fatto è che è un termine multisemantico che trova difficilmente un corrispondente italiano che racchiuda la molteplicità dei significati che esprime

mood è inteso in senso grammaticale, quindi è determinato dai modi verbali usati nel testo.

mi scuso, nel campo target term dovevo inserire tono (per "tone") e modo (per "mood")
comunque mi sembra che la domanda piu' che chiedere vera e propria traduzione chiedesse piu' una spiegazione. spero di essere stata utile comunque!
