Ciao a tutt*!

Io ci ho pensato e ripensato, ho lasciato trascorrere anche un'intera notte - che però non ha portato consiglio - e quindi mi rivolgo a voi con questa domanda:

"bore connection" può avere un significato tale da giustificare di associarla all'unità di misura gradi Celsius???

E sì, perché di questo si tratta nel mio contesto:

Temperature Sensing Device (TSD), capable of monitoring the observed test temperature to within an accuracy of +/-0.05°C. If a liquid-in-glass thermometer is used as the TSD, it shall be calibrated and graduated to 0.1°C, and have a holder that can be attached to the instrument for setting and observing the test temperature. ***In calibrating the thermometer, the ice point and bore connections should be estimated to the nearest 0.05°C.*** For non-mercurial thermometers, the TSD device shall be calibrated at least annually against a certified and traceable standard.

E se l'errore fosse nell'originale, voi come lo fareste "digerire" al vostro committente?

puo' avere un senso se si parla di test che si svolgono sul campo. senno', boh davvero. ma in atteso di una risposta da un'ingegnere ho trovato questa voce nel glossario Qatargas (link qui sotto): Temperature Log...Recording temperature variations down hole by the use of an electrode containing a length of platinum wire that readily assumes the temperature of the drilling mud, gas or water in the hole.. dunque immagino che devono assegnare un valore base di temperatura ai fili di platino prima che l'elettrode viene attaccato al TSD, per evitare che differenze di temperatura ambiente sfasano la lettura delle temperature nel foro.
spero che aiuta :-) e comunque, un cliente intelligente e' contento se gli fai delle domande, specialmente se e' ovvio che hai capito tutto tranne quel particolare. in bocca al lupo!
