I wonder if there someone could help me.
A ducument about Environmental Issue. Its contant dosen't look difficult. But there is a word I dont understand.
The below is part of the document which includes the word."BC"

...That is why it is so important to understand that GARBAGE IS RESOURCEFUL! Nature cannot afford to discard usable materials, and neither can we.
The concept of sustainability is an important one worldwide.How we consume our resources here in BC affects people all over the world. ......

I have no idea what "BC" of the last sentence means. This "BC" appears only one time in this document. Is this a special term for the subject?
