I'm actually trying to work out the kanji that have been used to translate "about us" into Japanese on a website upon which I am working. There are four characters. The first of which is 会 and the fourth of which is 要. Unfortunately the two in between have high stroke counts and are illegible in the images that I have been given. All help appreciated.

I guess it has 示 on the left hand side. (Unfortunately I was not successful to imput the whole character here.) If it is so, that's the same as 社. Normally we Japanese use 社 rather than 示＋土 that is the old style of 社.

It's elongated and rather fuzzy, but yes, I believe that's it. Excellent guess Reiko. Like you I can't actually find a way to input it anyway, so it's going to be easy to take your advice and go with the 会社 with which I'm familiar. Many, many thanks for your help.
