神がお定めになった瞬間 or 神がお定めになったとき Explanation: 神がお定めになった瞬間 Kami ga osadameni natta shunkan It literally means the moment (in time)that God appointed. This expression is used when the moment lasts for a very short period of time as in the moment of an accident. Kami...God Osadameni naru...respectful way of saying appoint Shunkan...a moment, an instant, a second 神がお定めになったとき Kami ga osadameni natta toki Toki...time, opportunity This one is appropriate for when the moment lasts more than a second. Ex.This year was a God-appointed moment in time for turning my life around. ex. 今が、神のお定めになったときです。Ima ga kami no osadameni natta toki desu. (Now is the God-appointed moment in time.) I changed "kami ga" to "kami no" in order to avoid redundancy of the particle "ga" in a given sentence. I interprete that "the moment in time" is a common expression which means a particular time. It's kind of redundant, as one could just as well say "moment" or "time", but it does emphasize the urgency of the timing. Ref. English and Japanese Bibles Habakkuk 2:3 …For the revelation awaits an appointed time…定められたとき Daniel 11:27…at the appointed time…定まった時 |
