The Tier 1 capital ratio is the ratio of a bank's core equity capital to its total risk-weighted assets (RWA). Risk-weighted assets are the total of all assets held by the bank weighted by credit risk according to a formula determined by the Regulator (usually the country's central bank). Most central banks follow the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) guidelines in setting formulae for asset risk weights. Assets like cash and coins usually have zero risk weight, while certain loans may have a risk of 100%.

Neesmu gan personīgi iepriekš saskārusies ar šādiem terminiem, bet pēc apraksta un "tier" skaidrojumiem izskatās, ka tas varētu būt "pirmā līmeņa kapitāls" un "otrā līmeņa kapitāls".. Pameklējot google, teju katrai bankai ir norādīti pirmā un otrā līmeņa kapitāli dažādās atskaitēs, kā to prasa arī likums.

Izskatās vienīgi, ka tiek rakstīts ar pilniem vārdiem: "Pirmā līmeņa kapitāls", "Otrā līmeņa kapitāls" un vēl arī pamanīju "Trešā līmeņa kapitāls"
