The process of scavenging moisture and acid neutralization can take some time to occur. Ideally there should be a waiting period between manufacture of the compound and its actual use in production. A time of 24 to 48 hours after manufacture has been found to be satisfactory for this process. Compounds can be used prior to the waiting time being over but the likelihood of processing difficulties will increase.
