Yes, I am not "pure" Hungarian, I have Polish ancestors. But all of them died. My father died when I was 8. So I had no choice to learn. And after my mother passed away I promised myself to learn Polish (thanks to my Russian I understand a lot but still cannot write). Maybe you will see me here more often...

The mixture of insignia and distinctive colors of several arms incorporated in the Armored Force symbolize integrity and esprit. It is an interlocked ornament, found in Nordic monuments, composed of three torques: red for Artillery; blue for Infantry; and yellow for Cavalry. The symbols represent the characteristics of Armored Divisions: the tank track, mobility and armor protection; the cannon, fire power; and the red bolt of lightning, shock action.

Ani nie mogło się zdarzyć, ani się nie zdarzyło. Nie ma i nie było jednostki o nazwie "10th Armored Infantry Division" (nawet, jeśli ktoś popełnił kiedyś jakiś tekst z podobną kombinacją znaków).

Istniał natomiast związek taktyczny o nazwie 10th Armored Division (10 dywizja pancerna), w skład którego wchodził min. 61st Armored Infantry Battalion (61 batalion zmechanizowany). I o kompanię sztabową (HQ) tegoż 61st Bn. z ww. dziesiątej dywizji pancernej chodzi w tym pytaniu.

I na tzw. zdrowy rozsadek brzmi to paradoksalnie: pancerna dywizja piechoty. Ale w warunkach „emergency” tzn. wojny, mogło się (chyba) zdarzyć.

Odnośnie „Infrantry” zgoda – powinno być „Infantry”.

Ale wygląda na to, że coś takiego jak „10th Armored Infantry Division” rzeczywiście istniało:

„A 1939 graduate of Stamford High, Joseph Celotto went overseas with the 10th Armored Infantry Division in 1943 and served in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and won a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts.”
