Prin "sistem de calcul" am avut în vedere partea hardware, iar prin "programe de calul" am avut în vedere partea software, ambele fiind absolut necesare pentru "end-user computing".

Termenul "computing" cred că are în vedere mai degrabă uzul acestui "mediu de calcul" spre deosebire de mediul în sine. Sintagma "mediu de calcul", plăsmuită de Josephine, e soluția pe care o căutam și eu, adică această sintagmă e mult mai sintetică, înglobând în sfera semantică atât partea harware ("sistem de calcul"), cât și partea software ("programe de calcul") și totodată rezolvă nevoia de a specifica dacă e vorba de "local computing" sau "cloud computing", sau dacă e vorba de licențe sau servicii software
