De obicei, limbile creole au nume (vezi lista Ministerului Culturii din Franta, care insira zeci de limbi creole vorbite in fostele posesiuni, dintre care nici una nu se cheama \"franceza x\"). Daca limba vorbita in Caraibe poarta inca numele de engleza, probabil ca nu este intr-atat de diferita incat sa poata fi considerata o alta limba.
