Explanation:
Nu stiu cum e in alte tari, dar in UK poti sa fii propietarul unui apartament fara sa sa platesti chirie pentru terenul pe care casa sau blocul este construit. "Enfranchisement" este procesul legal prin care cumperi acest pamant. In UK daca 50% dintre locatari dores sa cumpere pamantul, perioada de "lease hold" (de obicei e de 99 ani) a expirat, atunci poti cumpara pamantul.

"The estate agents" care se ocupa de leasehold and freehold fie ofera servicii de "surveying" prin care poti cumpara pamantul pe care casa/blocul e construit, fie au la vanzare apartamente cu tot cu pamantul pe care au fost construite.

A FREEHOLD LAND is a property where you own both the property and the land on which it is built.

Think of the english term LANDLORD, which is actually "propietar". It refers to both land owner and flat owner.
