Un recorte es una selección, tanto si se trata de materiales como de temas, etc. Creo que el "together" está incluido en el concepto de recorte en español.

In this context you could put it in other words, without changing much of the final meaning: "how we are going to deal with it". Anyway, I'll be glad to help you with this annoying word whenever you want!
