This can be used in various ways, but the way I wish to use it is of a rather quarrelsome wife who sometimes speaks sweetly to her husband; however, just as the poor husband thinks everything is okay she adds a hostile comment.
E.g. “Darling, you can spend the whole week in Istanbul.” (At this point the husband is pleased.)
“Even though you're bound to spend too much money.” (The sting in the tail!)
