English term

as far as

Non-PRO English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting Flaneur Walking
I wander there in the empty silence every sunday, pass across the far horizon in Hyde Park, looking at paintings as far as Notting Hill.
Hi, could someone explain the "as far as " in this context? thanks in advance.

DB, You must be right. And recent familiarity, not from at least a decade ago ...
sunny20101211 (asker) May 19, 2015:
I actually don't know there exist paintings along the Hyde Park rallings, which gives me a good reminder.
B D Finch May 19, 2015:
@Peter I think that, in order to really understand this, it's necessary to have some familiarity with that part of London on a Sunday. What's available to see in Notting Hill is very definitely better quality than the stuff on the Hyde Park railings.
Peter Simon May 19, 2015:
So, guys, you're suggesting that the person is looking at paintings found on the way from where he/she is to Notting Hill. Not further, and so not better paintings. Could be. My doubts about Jack's answer came from a feeling that asker may not understand that solution if he/she inserts it in the original. But I hope he/she does now
B D Finch May 19, 2015:
@Canada & Peter I really don't think that makes any sense. There are paintings of rather dubious quality on display on Sundays along the Hyde Park railings, but if you wander the fairly short distance to Notting Hill there are some serious galleries.
Jean-Claude Gouin May 19, 2015:
THANK YOU, PETER ... *
Peter Simon May 19, 2015:
This is, as I see it, a lot better explanation than Jack's
Jean-Claude Gouin May 19, 2015:
EXPLANATION ... There are many paintings, so many paintings that if we line them up, they will reach Notting Hill. Another way of saying this is that the paintings go as far as Notting Hill.

In French, "aussi loin que" (I noticed that an email about this gave the languages as "anglais")
