A "Green Card" is an alien registration card, issued to permanent resident aliens. Green cards entitle the holder to live and work in the United States. After holding a green card for four years and nine months, the holder may apply for naturalization as a citizen of the United States.

Most United States citizens acquired citizenship by birth, but persons born in other countries may also become U.S. citizens, this process is called "naturalization".

Change from Green Card to citizenship. (Naturalization).

Since I'm a Green Card holder (resident alien), I can't say for sure whether you get a card (just like a Green Card) when you become a naturalized US citizen, but as far as I know you get a Naturalization Certificate.

: It may have changed in the last quarter century, but you used to get a big certificate, no "card" per se.

: My husband got his naturalization certificate in April 05. It was not a card. The source text is wrong, if it is trying to say that a naturalization card and a green card are the same thing, because they are not. A naturalization certificate = citizenship
