German term

beiproviantieren (proviantieren)

German to English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) Evolutionary Biology
Translating a book on wasps, here are some examples:

Is it as simple as "provide"? Or is there a more technical term for this? Thank you!

to provision

I don't know about beiproviantieren, but proviantieren will be provisioning.

The general life pattern of a female Digger wasp involves preparing a nest, provisioning it with prey as food for her offspring, laying her eggs and then sealing up the nest.

agree Cetacea : "beiproviantieren" is another of those completely unnecessary "doppelt-gemoppelten" German terms (like e.g. "vorprogrammieren"). In other words, it means exactly the same as "proviantieren".
