Bündelfaser (wrong term) fiber-optic cable
Explanation: "Bündelfaser fiber" is a wrong term in German, it should be read "fiber bundle", but this is not a standardized term, neither in Germany, nor in UK/US. I know this from my esperiences in the field. Please distinguish "Fiber-optic cable" from "Fiber bundle". The context refers to standard fiber-optic cables and not to bundles of fibers. An optical fiber, or optical fibre in Commonwealth English, is a flexible, transparent fiber made by drawing glass (silica) or plastic to a diameter slightly thicker than that of a human hair. … Fibers are also used for illumination and imaging, and are often wrapped in bundles so they may be used to carry light into, or images out of confined spaces, as in the case of a fiberscope.[3] Specially designed fibers are also used for a variety of other applications, some of them being fiber optic sensors and fiber lasers.[4] A bundle of optical fibers : Optical fiber is used as a medium for telecommunication and computer networking because it is flexible and can be bundled as cables. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_fiber A fiber-optic cable, also known as an optical-fiber cable, is an assembly similar to an electrical cable but containing one or more optical fibers that are used to carry light. : In practical fibers, the cladding is usually coated with a layer of acrylate polymer or polyimide. This coating protects the fiber from damage but does not contribute to its optical waveguide properties. Individual coated fibers (or fibers formed into ribbons or bundles) then have a tough resin buffer layer or core tube(s) extruded around them to form the cable core. Several layers of protective sheathing, depending on the application, are added to form the cable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber-optic_cable ... is the loss of signal strength as light travels through a fiber optic cable. Fiber bundles, on the other hand, are groups of fibers that are bundled ... https://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd... A fiber-optic cable contains anywhere from a few to hundreds of optical fibers within a plastic casing. Also known as optic cables or optical fiber cables, they transfer data signals in the form of light and travel hundreds of miles significantly faster than those used in traditional electrical cables. https://www.verizon.com/articles/internet-essentials/fiber-o... The fiber-optic cable is made up of several individual optical fibers, which create a bundle. An individual fiber, which, at a diameter of 250 micrometers (µm) is as thin as a human hair, consists of a core, cladding, and a primary coating. These elements each perform a specific task to ensure that the fiber-optic cable works. https://www.telekom.com/en/company/details/fiber-optic-cable... [0001] The invention relates to optical fiber telecommunications cables, particularly bundled cable units containing optical fibers that may be used in multiple dwelling unit (MDU) applications. https://patents.google.com/patent/EP2390700B1/en

Da Schtroumpf hier "Bündelfasern" (Faserbündel) mit Multi-Mode-Fasern verwechselt, auch dazu einige Erklärungen: Multi-mode optical fiber is a type of optical fiber mostly used for communication over short distances, such as within a building or on a campus. Multi-mode links can be used for data rates up to 100 Gbit/s. Multi-mode fiber has a fairly large core diameter that enables multiple light modes to be propagated and limits the maximum length of a transmission link because of modal dispersion. : For many years 62.5/125 μm (OM1) and conventional 50/125 μm multi-mode fiber (OM2) were widely deployed in premises applications. These fibers easily support applications ranging from Ethernet (10 Mbit/s) to gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbit/s) and, because of their relatively large core size, were ideal for use with LED transmitters. Newer deployments often use laser-optimized 50/125 μm multi-mode fiber (OM3). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-mode_optical_fiber In fiber-optic communication, a single-mode optical fiber (SMF), also known as fundamental- or mono-mode,[1] is an optical fiber designed to carry only a single mode of light - the transverse mode. … Waves can have the same mode but have different frequencies. This is the case in single-mode fibers, where we can have waves with different frequencies, but of the same mode, which means that they are distributed in space in the same way, and that gives us a single ray of light. Although the ray travels parallel to the length of the fiber, it is often called transverse mode since its electromagnetic oscillations occur perpendicular (transverse) to the length of the fiber. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-mode_optical_fiber Eigenmoden oder Normalmoden sind spezielle Bewegungen eines schwingungsfähigen Systems.
