What is the correct word for the knob that you turn to open or close the drainage hole of your bathtub, that is to move the drain plug up or down. Frequently you also find the bathtub overflow hidden behind it.

Definitely something that you turn In another part of the same text this thing is referred to as "Drehrosette".

My advice: forget the 'fern' because if it is not just a plug you pull by hand, it will be that 'fern' thingy and everybody knows that already.

It might be a lever or a knob. I vote for lever as that covers most I have seen.

Bathtub Knob

In any bathtub, there is no need for a remote control device, as the knob isn't all too far away ;-)
