Es geht hier um den Transfer von Cystinose Patienten vom Kindernephrologen zur Betreuung in der Erwachsenenmedizin.
Der Arzt sagt: Diese Patienten sind sehr betreuungsintensiv, bzw. sie sind es gewohnt intensiv betreut zu werden; aber manchmal kann es sein, dass in der Erwachsenenwelt "ein anderer Wind weht" und man die Krankheit auch nicht so gut kennt und die Patienten zwar eine Anlaufstelle haben aber sich quasi nicht gut aufgehoben fuehlen.
Koennte man "ein anderer wind weht" einfach uebersetzen mit" "the wind is blowing from a different direction" or is there actually an American figure of speech that refers to the German "ein anderer Wind weht"?

: Helen, it does say that "die Patient sich nicht aufgehoben fühlen."I think this implied less mollycoddling. Of course, the young person might soon get to appreciate being treated as an adult and might despise the former "smooth" road.

: yes - "ein anderer Wind" is only a different wind - although "worse" may be implied, it isn't in the phrase and so shouldn't be introduced in the translation
