German term
.... stehen nur im Vertragsverhältnis zum Handelsvertreter
Not for points
German to English
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
Employment contract
The full sentence is:
Vom Handelsvertreter eingesetzte Mitarbeiter/Untervertreter stehen nur im Vertragsverhältnis zum Handelsvertreter.
I do not understand the sense of "zustehen" here.
Only by context I would infer the following meaning:
The employees and sub-representatives used by the sales representative only work for the sales representative in the contractual relationship.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

"zustehen" is not the verb here. The phrase you are dealing with here is "im Verhaeltnis zu etwas stehen".
