vocabulary test
I'm translating a vocabulary test which I can see is going to throw up a lot of challenges. People have to pick the right words from a list to fill the gaps in a definition - in this case to make the sentence "Metastasen sind Tumore, die durch die Verschleppung von Geschwulstkeimen entstehen".
Proposed translations
(English)

Selected
(in this context) cancer cells
There may be a more specific term but it is normal to speak of metastasis resulting from the spread of cancer cells.

Comment: "Thanks to everyone, particularly for the confirmation that it isn't a usual word."

I wand to add - and underline Reuben\'s comment - that I followed the German word which is not a specific medical term at all. Of course, the tumor is spreading from single cells but here we have \"Geschwulstkeime\" and not \"Krebszellen\".
