Mass media
In a ppt presentation on mass media advertising expenditure trends: This is a heading and the client's previous version reads "Total Market Spendings". I would like to propose "Overall Market Expenditure". Is there a middle way? I am unconvinced that "total" is the word here - it is not so much about total sum, but a general outlook, is my feeling. The slide has a pie chart on total expenditure ("Spendings Total") and a comparative graph ("Veraenderung 1. HJ 2010 vs. 1. HJ 2009").
I could just be nit-picking. If that is the case, I prefer to stick to the client's previous version.
Gesamtmarkt* comes up a few times.
