Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Nov 23, 2002:
Theresa Thanks for input. The text is about only one drug, not combined with other therapies, therefore I though it referred to the chemical makeup of the drug.
Non-ProZ.com Nov 23, 2002:
Note Is "Kombinationsbegrndung" something like "rationale behind compound selection"? Once I get that down the rest will fall into place, more or less...

The therapeutic efficacy, with regard to justifying the combination, has been sufficiently proven by both its use in the described areas and through clinical trials conducted over many years in accordance with regulations and also in practice

combination

Hard to tell without context, but Kombinationsbegruendung looks more like "reasoning behind/reason for choice of combination" of different medications. Does the context suggest anything like that? I don't think it refers to compounds (Bestandteile der Medikamente) unless it is a discussion of ONE medication and the combination of chemcials in it.
So, I guess I just contradicted myself!
HTH anyway!

P.S. Before I get flamed again for not using a proper umlaut: the ue stands for the umlaut.

justification for the combination of two active substances in one

pharmaceutical specialty.
The reference gives a reasonably clear example for this meaning.

For the claimed range of applications the therapeutic effectivness is established sufficiently by the justification of the combination, as well as proven in factual application by clinical studies, carried out in accordance with the prevailing jurisdiction in the course of many years.

Well, may not be perfect, but perhaps you can get some suggestions out of it.

greetings,

Nikolaus
