A report on a suicide attempt gives details of the drugs taken. It is very summarised with no further context, and one point just states "oral/nicht gesicherte Aufnahme". Does the Aufnahme relate to ingestion (or may be absorption)? And is the 'nicht gesicherte' to do with not being confirmed?
Thank you in advance

: You are right - it means: "oral ingestion, thus not quite clear which amount has been absorbed", this is what you wrote, right? ;-)

indeterminate/undetermined absorption
It's hard to say whether 'Aufnahme' refers to absorption or to ingestion. But because it's preceded by 'oral' (which is a form of ingestion), I'm inclined to think that 'nicht gesicherte Aufnahme' means 'indeterminate (or undetermined) ingestion'.
In others words, the report indicates that there is some uncertainty about how the drugs were taken.

Argh! That's meant to be 'indeterminate/undetermined INGESTION'. Not absorption, I think.
