German term or phrase: Täschner
This comes from a history of the brand Louis Vuitton and tells of how the young Louis walked to Paris to begin his apprenticeship as a "Täschner". I know this means that he made bags, fine handbags and the like, but I cannot think of nor find an English word (equivalent to a milliner, saddler, cobbler etc.) that fits the bill. Should I simply paraphrase or does someone have the answer?

I really don't see anything wrong with "bag-maker" here
