?Loggia? (recessed) balcony Explanation: I am assuming that this is an idiosyncratic spelling of "Loggia", i.e. a (recessed) balcony of some kind. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 30 mins (2012-03-29 16:16:20 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- From googling your text, I assume that this is the hotel in question: http://www.limmathof.ch/galerie/hotel/ In the first picture, the section on the far left could conceivably be the "Lodga/Loggia". It looks like there is a low glass parapet, but no full-length window. In other words, what looks like a room with the windows missing could possibly be a sort of semi-enclosed balcony. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 31 mins (2012-03-29 16:17:25 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This would of course contrast sharply with the (normal) balconies on the other side of the building (see picture 4). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2012-03-30 08:11:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or indeed "loggia" in English, even, as Nora points out. |
