Τότε ακούστηκε ένας ψίθυρος από τους τραυματίες και από το βάθος της αποθήκης σηκώνεται πάνω ένας, έρχεται προς το μέρος μου κουτσαίνοντας, σταματά μπροστά μου σε άψογη προσοχή, χαιρετάει, μου λέει «κάπταιν» και με το άλλο χέρι μου δίνει ένα φακό που όταν άναβε έδειχνε διάφορα χρώματα προφανώς για να δίνει σήματα.

Επειδή έχει το "κουτσαίνοντας" μπροστά:
came limping up to me, then stood at/to rigid attention before me, saluted... Κάνει καλή αντίθεση έτσι και ας μη λέει "άψογη".

Επειδή έχει το "κουτσαίνοντας" μπροστά:
