It is usually referred to as a high risk pregnancy. The only other term I can think of is maternity leave when the woman gets time off close to the time of giving birth. I am not aware of any legal term.

Explanation:
It is usually referred to as a high risk pregnancy. The only other term I can think of is maternity leave when the woman gets time off close to the time of giving birth. I am not aware of any legal term.

there is no similar term in English. In OB-GYN literature, the term usually used is - bed rest. fancy register - confinement.

high risk pregnancy and bed rest are 2 different things.
bed rest is part of the care that a person with a high risk pregnancy may receive. not all high risk pregnancies require bed rest. HIV or parvovirus or herpes virus infected mommies are considered high risk, but they do not necessarily require bed rest.

neutral  Suzan Chin: I considered using bed rest. Unfortunately it can be used for other conditions in addition to pregnancy. The term is too broad here.
