חסם נוף מוקם רחוק ככל האפשר על גבי האאורטה היורדת
I imagine this is some type of tourniquet.
The intervertebral vessels were temporarily closed with vascular clips. A __ tourniquet was placed as distally as possible over the descending aorta. The aorta was exposed along its length and pericardial patches were used to enlarge this long length of the aorta.
Thank you!

Selected
clamp
in this case
חסם
would be:
clamp
(not tourniquet)
for this surgery they would use:
aortic cross-clamp
I do not think there is such a thing as
the Nof aortic cross-clamp (i.e., named after an inventor named Nof)
There is a Hoff clamp. Maybe that is what the author meant to type. I don't think it is intended for aortic cross-clamping.
