A skizofrénia úgynevezett pozitív tünetei A pozitív tünetek közé tartoznak a hallucinációk és az úgynevezett delúziók (téves eszmék). Azért hívják ezeket pozitívnak, mert olyan viselkedésmintát takarnak, amelyek hozzáadódtak a korábbi személyiséghez. Hallucinációk. Hallucinációról beszélünk ha valaki nem létező dolgokat érzékel. A skizofréniában leggyakrabban észlelt hallucináció a hangok hallása. A beteg lehet, hogy párbeszédet folytat más által nem hallható hangokkal, de az is lehet, hogy úgy érzi, hogy ezek a hangok utasításokat adnak neki, azzal kapcsolatosan, hogy mit tegyen. Paranoid Schizophrenia
Paranoid schizophrenia is the most common type of schizophrenia in most parts of the world. The clinical picture is dominated by relatively stable, often paranoid, delusions, usually accompanied by hallucinations, particularly of the auditory variety, and perceptual disturbances. Disturbances of affect, volition, and speech, and catatonic symptoms, are not prominent.
Examples of the most common paranoid symptoms are:
delusions of persecution, reference, exalted birth, special mission, bodily change, or jealousy;
hallucinatory voices that threaten the patient or give commands, or auditory hallucinations without verbal form, such as whistling, humming, or laughing;

A split personality has nothing to do with schizophrenia, but the more with Multiple Personality Syndrom (MPS). This is a psychiatric disorder at which the sufferer has divided his personality into subpersonalities, also known as alters.
The alters have their own memory and don't know of eachother's existence. The consequence is, that the sufferer has several episodes of amnesia.
Almost always the development of MPS is triggered by (sexual) abusion. During the traumatic experience the person dissociated ("not being here", a form of trance) and an alter took over the pain. For every traumatic experience an alter was created. The alternating of the alters (!!) is easily recognized by the changing of the voice of the sufferer.
MPS is one of the most severe forms of defense mechanisms, used by the psyche to cope with traumatic experiences.

(anyukám egy pszichiátrián dolgozott egész életében és az apukám halála után minden délután ott ültem a nővérszobában, mert nem volt rokon, aki vigyázzon ránk. Unalmamban 8 éves koromban a nővérszobában meg a raktárban található könyveket kezdtem el olvasgatni - talán nem kellett volna :)

Since 1994, MPS is officially classified as Dissociative Identity Disorder in the DSM-IV2 as the alters are more identities than personalities based on dissociations.
As MPS (or DID) is believed to be very rare, not much research has been done. Thereby there is not much known of the prognosis.
