Italian term

supercalcolatore

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Computers (general) bid
Can anyone tell me if this is actually trying to say "supercomputer" or if there is another "thing" called a "supercalculator". I get very few hits on supercalculator so I'm wondering if it is actually just referring to a supercomputer...

It's a more or less meaningless expression, just as "superstar" is; but people use it, and our job [sigh] is to translate what we're given.

To quote from Wikipedia: "The term supercomputer itself is rather fluid, and today's supercomputer tends to become tomorrow's ordinary computer". For once, Wikipedia got it right :)
