Italian term or phrase: impostare/reimpostare
I am doing a back translation of instructions to patients who are taking part in a clinical research study. Italian into US English.

The patients are being asked to enter answers to a questionnaire into a computerized device, and they need an access code to access their record and begin entering the information.

My question is whether it is correct to use impostare/reimpostare in this context to mean "set" or "reset" the subject's access code.

The phrase on the screen says: "Imposta Codice di Accesso". Is this the correct way to say 'set' the access code? I only find definitions relating to taxes and 'imposition' when I look up impostare, even in the ProZ glossaries.

Grazie.

impostare
2 (estens.) to set* out, to lay* out, to formulate; (avviare) to start, to set* up: - un piano di ricerca, to set up a research project; - un'azienda, un ufficio, to set up a business, an office;

related to an access code, I'd go for "set/reset"
