Italian to English Marketing Food & Drink ingredients
one of the ingredients used in making the Gnocchi and Chicche from the previous question. They use "patate reidratate 66% (acqua, fiocchi di patate, emulsionante: E471)" whereas Anglo recipes tend to refer to the individual components of the patate reidratate : i.e. potato flakes, water and emulsifier.

What do you think a translator / consultant should suggest to the client? Should this be localised or just translated??

Yes, that is the text Thanks, Jim - yes I do risk too much potato! So we have "patate reidratate 66% (acqua, fiocchi di patate, emulsionante: E471), patate fresche (20%), fecola di patata" - the list goes on and on! There is no doubt about this being a simple translation (someone even voted it a non-PRO!), but the PRO aspect thta concerns me is "to localise or not to localise"

Anthony is that the actual text you have to translate there? If not can you give it please. I think that if you localise, you risk too much potato ;-)

I believe you can use the translation. I'm quite sure I read the ingredient somewhere in English....anyway, I believe it's clearer than indicating the components (I'm quite a good cook so I talk out of my personal cooking and recipe experience!)
