Italian term

Sinistro osservato per il malus

Italian to English Other Insurance relates to shared responsibility for an accident ' Responsabilita' paritaria'
This is from a car insurance policy and the title of this section is 'Dettaglio sinistri pagati con responsabilita' paritaria ' and then the years are listed 2008/9/10 etc. For this I am considering 'Details of insurance claims where responsibility is shared' or simply 'shared responsibility claims'. As far as I am aware , in GB either one party or the other is considered at fault after a car accident and it is not shared.

But I am stuck with (M) 'sinistro osservato per il malus' Can somebody help please???

claim recorded for no claims bonus purposes

This is what it must mean, although there may be a better way to word it. As for no partial liability in car accidents, I would seriously doubt that. The insurance compensation must reflect what a court would decide or indeed what a court does decide and courts do apportion blame.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Have decided to go with this as this is the purpose of the translation and the wording is spot on for British English - would be understood in UK more than the other entries"

claim observed for malus purposes

The insurance industry talks about observed claims, observed policyholders etc. for purposes of merit rating (i.e. bonus/malus systems).
The malus is the premium increase based on the number of accidents, while the bonus is the premium reduction due to no accident claims filed.
You'll find a lot of references to these systems if you search under bonus/malus. I've indicated a few.

Accident logged with loss of no-claims discount

Surely the sinistri pagati con responsabilita' paritaria is the shared-claims point and the malus point if different. It's one motorist who incurs the malus > penalty and loses the no-claims bonus.

Osservato: factored in or marked vs. objected to, perhaps.

BTW, it's shared liability and not responsibility in UK motor ins.
Example sentence:

This system is also called a no-claim discount (NCD) or no-claims bonus in ... drivers to be careful and avoid accidents that would lead to the loss of bonus.

Note from asker:
Many thanks. I have opted for 'partial liability'
