"Stock" might imply products either waiting to be sold or in process of manufacture whereas "parco" refers to software purchased and actually in use at the buyer's place of business.
I agree about the focus of "range" (quality) and "stock" (quantity) but the adjective "eterogeneo" suggests that the study could be more interested in the nature of the software than the amount.
I take your point about "application" but of course "software" is highly likely to be obvious from the context.
What do you say to splitting the difference and going for "software application resources", which is neutral on quality/quantity?

Range is not the same as the total of every thing it indicates the types rather than the quantity (and type). An "applicativo" is a "software application" while an "applicazione" is just an application of any type.
