granulocytes, erythrocytes
Gr abbreviates both granulociti and globuli rossi. Emazie is a synonym for "globuli rossi".
Granulocytes, also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes, are immune cells. They include different types: neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils.
Neutrophils or neutrophil granulocytes are the most abundant type of granulocytes and the most abundant (40% to 75%) type of white blood cells in most mammals.
Neutrophils are a type of phagocyte and are normally found in the bloodstream. During the acute phase of inflammation, particularly as a result of bacterial infection, [...] neutrophils are one of the first-responders of inflammatory cells to migrate towards the site of inflammation. They migrate through the blood vessels, then through interstitial tissue, following chemical signals [...] in a process called chemotaxis.
Neutrophils have three strategies for directly attacking micro-organisms: phagocytosis (ingestion), release of soluble anti-microbials, and generation of neutrophil extracellular traps.

Inflammation
If inflammation (redness) is present in the cells on the Pap smear, it means that some white blood cells were seen on your Pap smear. Inflammation of the cervix is common and usually does not mean there is a problem. If the Pap smear showed that the inflammation is severe, your doctor may want to find the cause, such as an infection. You may also need to have another Pap smear in six months to see if the inflammation has gone.

: But they're still the same thing ... why would the writer use two different names for the same test? Could Gr = granulociti in this context?//See Judy's comment above about granulocytes.

I am trying to contribute to this answer with the following links. I know that there are repetitions and that you know already the subject, but hopefully there is something that you can find of interest to understand why they are together in the same test.
Emazie = RBCs

Le emazie sono i globuli rossi presenti nel sangue.

Globuli rossi (GR)
...Le cellule con i granuli nel loro citoplasma sono anche chiamati granulociti...
http://www.labtestsonline.it/dettagli-globuli-rossi.html
Dettagli globuli rossi
Dettagli: irregolarità dei GR
The only reference that I found stating that the acronym of granulocytes (granulociti) is GR:
http://www.gilbertolacchia.it/acromed.pdf
GR Granulocytes
GR Globuli Rossi
but it's a list that Joseph Tein knows well: 'Acronimi italiani e anglosassoni usati in medicina (a cura di Gilberto Lacchia, MD e Joseph Tein, MA)'.
I tried the following site, that should have a very detailed list of medical acronyms: http://gungadin.cs.brandeis.edu/~weiluo/main3.htm
but in Prato, where I live, is unreachable.
http://intranet.ao-garibaldi.ct.it/templates/DirSan/riclin/P...
I found this interesting pdf document, but nothing related to granulocytes.
I read several pap tests.

I suppose that emazie+++ means that the examiner found a large amount of RGCs.

It looks like that they use GR and Emazie as different terms for RGCs. But it's very strange to find the two terms together in the same document with the same meaning.
