Italian term or phrase: elementi di frizione
Nautical survey. The report indicates that "L'asse dell'elica non presenta giochi e in rotazione si avverte che sono stati sostituiti gli elementi di frizione". I am not sure what "elementi di frizione" are. Also, how can the surveyor be "rotating" the propeller and feeling this? I can see how one might do this with a rudder, but with the propeller? The surveyor manually spins it? I'd appreciate any clarification on this especially because this theme of testing, rotating and saying the elements "non presentano giochi" is recurrent (sails, rudder, propeller, etc.). Thanks.. this is not my field!
