Italian to English translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. / lavoro povertà
Italian term or phrase: oggetto e soggetto
Here's the context:
Affrontare il tema della grave marginalità adulta ci permette di definire alcune specificità intorno al tema del lavoro che è necessario sviscerare per comprendere un rapporto difficile, spesso problematico tra oggetto e soggetto.
And this is my translation so far:
"To address the issue of extreme adult emargination allows us to define a few specificities of the issue of work which must be examined in every detail in order to understand the difficult and often problematic relationship between work and workers."
I can't see any other effective way of translating it without transposing the abstract into the concrete. Is the interpretation right? Help is welcome?

Asker: I'd have difficulty knowing what that meant in English.

Asker: I mean that grammatically it is fine, but the subject, the materia oggetto di studio, di azione, the subject matter, is often translated with oggetto in Italian.

Asker: That is fine for people who have studied philosophy, such as many Italians who have studied it in school, but its not taught in UK schools, which leaves a very slender minority of university philosophy graduates.

work and adult operator

Explanation:
The subject is the marginalized adult worker. The word operator is used to signify a different term from worker.

Our job is to convey as close as possible the meaning, register and style of the original author. If he waxes philosophycal or uses extremely technical terminology, it is NOT our job to water down or "make easier" his text. If he says oggetto e soggetto, that means object and subject.

Notes to answerer
Asker: "l'oggetto di una lettera" is "the subject of a letter" while the "object of a letter" is its purpose. Where does your loyalty, or I would say "faithfulness" take you with this, because this is my dilemna here?
