Polish term

kongenialność (polskiej sztuki) wobec

Polish to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Pokazuje też przychylne przyjęcie paryskiej krytyki artystycznej i publiczności, podziwiającej wiarygodność, wizyjność, a przede wszystkim – kongenialność polskiej sztuki wobec ideałów zachodniego uniwersalizmu.
Pomóżcie, proszę: czy można tu użyć 'congeniality' jako 'dorównujący geniuszem oryginałowi', czy to tylko kalka, bo już głupieję :/

Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. May 31, 2020:
Nie. Congeniality to coś zupełnie innego w angielskim.
congeniality
People who have the quality of congeniality have a gift for getting along with others. They are warm, friendly, and probably well-suited to serve on welcoming committees.

The noun congeniality is closely related to the word geniality, which means "friendliness." Congeniality can be defined the same way, but the Latin prefix con, or "with," adds a sense of connection to other people. If you can't get elected as Prom Queen, strive for the title "Miss Congeniality."

the genius of Polish art on par with the ideals of Western universalism

If you need "genius" in there, with a different emphasis and nuance.
