Portuguese term or phrase: sentence
(on a Brazilian university transcript)
Este Certificado nao tera validade quando apresentado junto com Diploma de Mestre ou Doutor, obtido em curso em que tenha sido aproveitados (no todo ou em parte) os creditos acima.

Does this mean simply: shall be invalid when presented with, etc.? It doesn't make much sense that the transcript would become invalid when presented with the diploma.
Or is there something I'm missing here? Does the nao..quando mean something like "except when" or "only when"?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

English translation:diploma overrules the certificate
Explanation:
A possible explanation would be that if given a Diploma where (all or in parts) the marks (or credentials) of the certificate have been incorporated (or taken advantage of), the person cannot also use the certificate (as proof of his/her credentials), i.e. the diploma already integrates what is in the certificate.
Does that make sense in the overall context of your deocument?
