BASE DE JATEAMENTO - BAJA

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering Petroleum Eng/Sci terminology
This is taken from a drilling glossary and I see it has been asked before and question closed with no proper answer given (blasting mat not acceptable).
I dont have any further context, but I am pretty certain what it is but dont have an english term for it.
I believe it is a sort of structure that sits on the sea bed over the well head and literally guides the drill bit into the well hole. I imagine it must be connected directly to the BOP device?

Yeah I already saw this one Liz, thats why I reckon its something to do with the BHA (bottom hole assembly) but what is is called in english?

Thanks for your comments, Andrew. I had thought of suggesting moon-pool assembly, but I saw on the Internet that that is used for the real drilling, not for exploration. Unfortunately I cannot do any further research right now. Good luck.

Great Elizabeth, I think u maybe on the right track here. It certainly combines with the photos Ive seen, and the phrase 'Spudding-in' certainly exists in O7G jargon too!

agree Francisco Alves : I spent a bit of time trying to figure it out too. Spud-in assembly sounds about right to me too. Lowered together with the BHA to start the hole but i think it is removed after installing the conductor pipe.
